Sports
I love sports. I grew up watching football and baseball with my father. I studied baseball and started following the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team. As I got older, I started watching more sports commentary shows with my mother and listening to sports radio on the way to work. I started following trade rumors, free agency rumors, and multi million dollar contracts. During the season, I would also follow stats and how other teams compared to each other before the playoffs. I read articles about management and how they dealt with losing and winning. Same with football.
As an Eagles fan these past few seasons have been interesting to say the least. Interesting and drama filled. Everytime I listened to the Philadelphia sports radio, people were arguing for or against the quarterback. Sports fans are always entertaining especially Philly sports fans. My Uncle (an Eagles fan) almost got into a full verbal fight with his sister (my mom a New York sports fan) over the quarterback. At the table on Thanksgiving last year. All my mom said was that the quarterback is not that good and that he could use better coaching. My Uncle’s reaction was not a surprise to anyone as he is one of the louder and more passionate Eagles fans. I am an Eagles fan, but I am a quieter fan who while I like the team, is realistic in thinking that they might not make it far during the season. However, the extra passionate Philadelphia sports fans add a little extra spice and drama to the games.
As I am writing this, it is baseball season and football is having its offseason. The Phillies had a rocky start but they are doing okay as of today and that makes me happy to see. I will be rooting for the Phillies all season just like I always do and I know people feel the same way about their favorite teams. Good luck to all and it is okay to be critical of your favorite teams.
